Esmari Robertson



After completing a degree in Sport Science, Esmari spent 5 years in London working in and gaining experience in the field of Special Education.


Esmari was first introduced to Makaton while working at a school for children with visual impairment and multiple disabilities and made it her mission to become a Makaton tutor one day.


Since being back in South Africa, she has worked in schools for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, where she sees the need for alternative and augmentative communication systems daily. Esmari implements Makaton in her classroom with her learners and has experienced the positive results first-hand.
