Elizna has recently returned from London where she studied and worked as a specialist classroom teacher in a LSEN setting.
During her first year of studies she met a family whose teenage girl was diagnosed with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Their first chance encounter changed the course of her studies and ultimately her life. While supporting her, a pre-verbal teenager, it highlighted the importance of other forms of communication.
Over the last 13 years working and supporting her and other children and adults with communication difficulties, Elizna has seen the positive impact that Makaton has had on these individuals and their families.
